Save Money on Your Summertime Eligible Expenses
July 31, 2018
Summer is in full swing, which means warm weather and sunny days. Are you prepared? You can save money by using your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) funds for eligible summertime expenses. We’ve outlined a few items that are often needed during this time of year for your quick reference.
Along with the warm weather comes sunburns and bugs. Taking care of your skin is an important part of enjoying summer in the sun. You can purchase the following skin care products with your FSA or HSA funds:
- Sunburn creams and lotions (with a doctor’s prescription)
- Anti-itch creams and lotions (with a doctor’s prescription)
- Lip balm (with a doctor’s prescription)
First-aid supplies are nice to have on hand in the summer months, especially if you’re into outdoors activities or have children. Stay one step ahead of cuts and bruises so you can continue to enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family by purchasing:
- First-aid kits
School is out for the summer, which increases the demand for daycare providers. Remember that if you have a Dependent Care FSA, you can set aside up to $5,000 this year for daycare expenses for children under age 13.
